Spring Book Haul

Hi Guys

It’s been a while since I’ve done a book haul, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t bought any. It may seem like I’ve gone a bit crazy but these are all of the books I’ve bought since February and I’ve actually already read a few of them.

Girl With All The Gifts by M.R. Carey: I’ve heard so many amazing things about this book and the movie adaptation however I have no idea what it’s about. But I trust their opinions so hopefully I like it.

Far From The Madding Crowd by Thomas Hardy: I’ve kind of been loving classic romances at the moment and this is such a well loved one. Can’t wait to read it.

Silmarillion by J.R.R Tolkien: I was never actually planning on reading this but I saw it in a charity shop for 20p so I thought, why not? It might be one of those books that I read a little bit at a time.

Persuasion, Sense and Sensibility & Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen: I bought the Headline Review editions because I wanted all my Austen’s to match and I’d already got Mansfield Park in this edition. I just need to get P&P and Emma in these editions now.

Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller: This is one I’ve already read, loved and reviewed. It’s a standalone sexy spin on Greek mythology.

Middlemarch by George Elliot: I’m excited and hesitant about this one. It’s so big and it seems people either love it or DNF it.

The Humans by Matt Haig: I recently read his upcoming release How To Stop Time and was surprised by how much I loved it, seeing as it’s sci-fi and I’m not the biggest fan of that genre. This is one I’ve heard an endless amount of good things about so hopefully I get to it soon.

Let me know if you’ve read any of these and what I should get to first!

Thanks for reading

Jess X

  1. Those editions of the Jane Austen books are so gorgeous! I’ve read Northanger Abbey and it’s basically a gothic parody and it was really good! I’ve started reading Persuasion last month but I haven’t been in the mood for it so I’ve put it on hold for now. 🙂
